Saturday – Mark 4:30-32
Mark 4:30-32
ESV
And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what
parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown
on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, yet when it is sown it
grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large
branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
The smallest seed is used to explain the importance of sowing even the
smallest things in faith. What the Lord does with the small supercedes our
limits and produces solutions for more than just ourselves, but for others.
The mustard seed provided branches for birds to nest and have shade.
Our faith, as small as a mustard seed, when sown in good soil, covers more
than we could ever ask, think, or imagine. Something small, with faith,
can carry immense significance.
Lord, forgive me for allowing my judgment of small beginnings to limit my
faith in how big You are! I pray that what You have shown me to sow, even if it’s
so small, will benefit Your Kingdom. Thank You for reminding me it is not about
me, but about You. I pray that You receive all the glory, and that my faith
would rise in seeing all You do with one small step of obedience. I love You,
Lord! May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
